Pei Wang

Faculty, UCI Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery

Pei Wang is a new faculty member in the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at University of California, Irvine. He has a strong background in molecular genetics, with more than 16 years of experience investigating gene function using a wide range of genetic manipulation approaches. He completed his postdoctoral training at Stanford University under the mentorship of Dr. Nicolas Grillet and Dr. Anthony Ricci, where his research focused on elucidating the molecular architecture of the auditory mechanotransduction machinery through the study of deafness genes. At UCI, his research aims to identify novel proteins involved in the initiation of hearing and to develop next-generation delivery vehicles for genetic materials targeting the inner ear.
