Matt Richardson is a research specialist in the Department of Otolaryngology. His work focuses on improving hearing restoration with cochlear implants by assessing novel modes of auditory-nerve stimulation with penetrating (‘intraneural’) electrodes. He will present recent studies using frequency following responses to evaluate neural synchrony to electrical stimulation in animal models implanted with either conventional cochlear implants or intraneural electrodes.
